bought from shed dealer
This single shed has a 7 inch base!!! It’s hard to see just how massive this shed is in the photo.
This is a great set of matching sheds. This buck has really long main beams and nice tine length. Has a more classic form of an Eastern Whitetail.
Check out the mass on this pair of sheds. Nice find!
Mark Hanson 2003
January 2003
Nice 4 point shed antler that Mark found 5 feet from an active scrape while he was packing out the buck he killed with his bow. Notice it’s up in the pine forest.
Colter Fosdick 2009
Sept. 09
Colter found a couple nice pickups within 20 minutes of one another while bowhunting in Sept 09. Colter hasn’t measured the buck but estimates it at 120 and thinks he has had probably 5-10″ chewed off.
Billy Webster 2007
2007
Billy found this buck in March 2007 in the White Mountains (unit 4B). It has a 6 inch droptine and he says it scores about 120.
Cory Barker
This buck was originally found in Unit 27 40 years ago by Frank Fowler of Show Low, AZ. Gross score 128.
Ryan Showerman 2006
Jan 2006
New Mexico
Ryan said these finds were the closest he got to a coues deer during his archery hunt! At least he found some good ones!
Phil Cramer 2005
Sept 2005
Unit 30A, Arizona
Phil found this rack while on his way to his treestand. He assumes it was a lion kill since he also found it near three dead calves in the bottom of a drainage.
Jeff Fell
Jeff found this skull and shed in Unit 23 in NM. He says the skull scores about 100 and the shed, if matched, would be 110.
Wade Lyman
Wade said between him and his 2 friends they found 5 dead bucks in two adjoining canyons during the drought a few years ago. He said hunting was tough in there the following year.
Bob White 2004
2004
Bob picked this set of antlers up during his whitetail hunt in 2004. It is just starting to grow double droptines. He says this buck unofficially scores 122. He hopes to have an official score soon.
Bret Mattausch’s Uncle’s 1980’s
Unit 33, Arizona
Bret’s uncles found this lion-killed buck in the early 80’s. It scores about 109 net.
2003-04
Unit 36, Arizona
This 90-inch 2×3 (plus eyeguards) deer was dragged up and wedged into the V of some branches on a big oak tree, most of the skeleton was laying around the tree and the skull was still up there.
2003-04
Unit 36, Arizona
This buck gross scores in the low 100’s.
Jeff Davison 1997
Unit 32, Arizona
Jeff and his hunting buddy found this lion-killed buck during his hunt. Both he and his friend took bucks that year and used one of those capes to mount this picked-up rack.
Andy Knowlton 2004
April 2004
Unit 36B, Arizona
Here is a pick-up Andy found this last friday in 36b while he was out lion hunting with his hounds. They taped it and it grosses about 113!! Andy said the most amazing thing was that the hounds were trailing a lion from the night before and ran right over the top of this kill, perhaps it was the same lion that killed this buck a few years ago? They never caught the lion.
Kevin Payne 2003
Dec. 2003
Unit 27, Arizona
Kevin found this buck during his December Coues hunt in Unit 27.
The buck had been killed just a week or so before the hunt by a lion. There are a few small teeth marks on the back of the right antler near the base. Kevin was disappointed the lion got to him before he could. The symmetrical dark antlered buck nets 100 3/8.
Kevin and his brother Brian grew up in Springerville chasing elk around. But now they are both engineering students at U of A and have become absolute Coues fanatics.
Chuck Meacham
I don’t have a lot of details on this rack. Because it is so bleached out, I assume it was a pick-up someone found. Taxidermist Chuck Meacham is holding the buck. Check out the length of those eyeguards!!! What a monster. They haven’t put a tape to it yet, but I will let you know if they do.
John Jordan and Albert Jordan
Unit 30A, Arizona
This deer was found by a rancher about 15 years ago (around 1989). John Jordan purchased the mount from my taxidermist at the time because the rancher had no funds to pay for the mount.
The mount was shown at the Cochise County Fair for many years, until John purchased it. The sign under it when it was on display read “Coues or Muley” and many hunters argued over it for many years. John has Roy Lopez doing DNA on the rack and is waiting for results from his study. (I will post the results on this website once we get them– Amanda)
Albert Jordan, John’s father, is holding the buck in these photos.
Score: 142 as measured by Joe Danker, experienced measurer for the Douglas Rifle & Pistol Club
Owners: John Jordan/Albert Jordan ( Son/Father)
Casey Charter pick-up
Unit 34A, Arizona
Casey’s hunting partner found this rack in the Tumacocari Mtns. Casey says it gross scores 126 and that the pictures don’t do it justice.
Hopefully he will get some better photos of this buck.
Brian Rimsza 2002
Dec. 2002
Unit 36C, AZ
Brian found this buck while quail hunting. He gross scores 126 and nets 123 3/8. It has 20″ main beams with a 16″ inside spread. The G2’s are 11″ long. He found this buck in an area that he had taken a smaller buck earlier in the year with his bow. Brian has spent a lot of time in the area but had never seen this particular buck until the day he found him dead. What a tremendous find!
Michael Frazier 2003
May 2003
Eastern AZ
Michael found this nice buck with a drop tine this memorial day weekend. It’s a 5×7 that grosses 120 and nets 114. Main beams are 16 2/8 and base circum. is 4 4/8. Inside spread is 13 4/8.
Jim Bedlion 1995

Brian Chapman 2001
Feb 2001
Unit 21, Arizona
This nice 5×4 rack scores about 96 inches. Brian found it while out shed hunting.
Patrick Bernard
bought from antler dealer
These are probably pick-ups from the White Mtn. Apache Reservation, but he isn’t sure. But check out the webbing on this massive buck.
Josh Epperson pick-up 2003
January 2003
A buck he found that a lion fed on for several days. He was going after the lion, not sure if he got it yet.
Jimmy Caretto 2001
August 2001
Unit 24A, Arizona
Jimmy found this buck dead during the August archery hunt. It still has some velvet on it. This buck is very massive, but is incredibly light. It feels like holding balsa wood. I think the buck just didn’t get to finish solidifying his antlers before it died.
Gross score: 114 6/8 Net score: 103 7/8
