Mark Lucas 2005
Aug 2005
Mark got some pics of some fine bucks and also a very powerful looking mtn lion. Unfortunately, Mark broke his wrist falling out a treestand as he was setting it up before the season and now won’t get to hunt this buck for quite some time. You can read the post about his fall in the discussion forum. We all wish Mark a speedy recovery. He is hoping to be able to shoot his bow by December.

Josh got some nice photos of two bucks in velvet. Check out the 2nd to last photo…close enough???
And finally he got a picture of that same buck once he shed his velvet.

The upper photo is from a trail cam set back in January. And the lower one is from this summer.

(aka Bowsniper)
Mark has been searching for a place to archery hunt this summer. Looks like he found some bucks to chase.
These pics are taken with a digital camera.
Jim Parker 2004
Fall 2004
Jim got these photos of a lion that came into a tank for water. These are not trail camera photos, Jim was sitting the tank and watched the lion come in and get a drink. Jim said the lion came in and drank for a long time then sat down and looked around before easing out of the area.

The top two photos are of a really wide buck that Tim and Mike have gotten photos of many times. The third photo is of a large buck that came into their treestand twice during Jan 2005 but they were unable to get a shot.

The top photo is of a bear taken with their new digital trail camera. The next two are of a Coues deer buck with a radio collar on it.
The next is of a mtn lion and the last two are of a bear that came in for a swim at a water trough.

summer/fall 2004 (buck)
spring 2005 (shed)
Tim and Mike got a couple photos of this buck on their trail cameras. And then tried to find the shed from this buck the following spring. After lots of searching, they finally enlisted the help of Josh Epperson who managed to find the exact shed from this buck! Check out the split G-2.
After measuring this antler, they figure the buck would be a 95 incher.

The pic’s of the two bucks were taken in the late spring right before they dropped their antlers. The bear came into this spring several times last summer. The lions are two different individuals at two different water holes.
The amount of reflection of light in an animals eyes at night tends to correlate with its ability to see in the dark. Check out the glow on that bottom lion pic!

Summer 2003 and 2004
Unit 24B, AZ
These photos were taken over the last couple summers and the top two show some whitetail, the next two show some lions and the last shows a ringtail cat.
During that summer they got the lion photos, they said lions came in 2-3 times a week. However, the following year, no lions have been coming in.

Danny got these and several other pics of Coues deer on his game camera this past Jan.

Josh says this tall 3-point looks like the one he wounded last year with his bow. He hopes it’s him.
Nathan Wenner
New Mexico
Nathan sent in these pics without much info. The lion picture was labelled “lions mating”, so perhaps that is indeed what they are doing! That’s got to be a first for a game cam to capture that! If I get more details I will post them here.
Danny Howard April 2004
April 9, 2004
Danny had his camera set up for three weeks and got photos of 22 mule deer a few of Coues bucks. Some of the deer came in from an angle that Danny didn’t expect so the deer are barely in the photo. You can see the bucks still had their antlers in April. Coues usually shed in May-June, much later than other deer in AZ.

You can see that the trail camera has been placed over a scrape and these two bucks came in to do their thing. Nice photos!

2004
As Josh was walking toward a scrape he saw a matching set of sheds. The sheds were 3 yards apart and 10 yards from the scrape. Josh then set up a trail camera on that scrape in the hopes of getting a photo of the buck. And he did! The top photo is of the 2×3 buck (plus eyeguards). You can see the buck walking by the scrape.
Mark Hanson 2003
Here are a couple photos of some nice bucks. May be the same buck. Looks like 3 points, plus eyeguards.
Mark Hanson 2003
I put these two pics up since I think they show the difference in body size of a young buck (top pic) and a mature buck (bottom photo).

Some does and fawns.
Little herd of javelina.
A couple bucks, one is pretty interesting looking.
A mountain lion came in at night for a drink.

White Mtn Apache Reservation
Alan bought these sheds and Josh Epperson is holding them in the photo.
These are one from the past 3 yrs in a row, sorry no matches yet……
In the pic with the three antlers….Left antler scores in the lower 60’s, middle one is around 66″ and the drop-tine is broken clean off. The brown side scores around 75″.
Josh Epperson

The guy holding the antler (Chet Dieringer) is the one who found it in the Huachucas a few years ago. Chet said he saw the antler hanging near the side of the road. Josh bought the antler from him and measured it at 57 4/8!

If you look closely, you can see that the skull has three separate main beams, making it unacceptable for entry into Boone and Crockett.
This buck nets 134 and it has 22 inch main beams and 18 inch inside spread. There are also three sets of sheds from this buck!
Josh Epperson 2004
Nov 2004
Josh likes this antler because it has a unique shape to it he calls an “elbow antler”. It doesn’t score high, but it’s the first time Josh has found a shed like this one.
Alan Ellsworth
White Mtn. Apache Res.
Alan bought this rack last year from someone from the WMAR.
The right antler has points growing in the wrong direction and left antler has a split beam. Josh thinks it’s a really old buck because the bases are huge. No score on this one.
