ElkDeer Report post Posted August 13, 2008 Just found out I have to go to Happy Jack this coming Saturday and of course I am not going to leave the house without my gear when entering such a beautiful part of the state. I have always wanted to try and call off the 260 between Camp Verde and the 87. It looks like a good calling area. Has anyone ever had any success in this area? Thanks!!! azhunter23 Report post Posted August 14, 2008 I have always wanted to try calling on the road to fossil creek just outside of Camp Verde. I was in there 2 weeks ago with the wife and kids and saw a fox and a coyote. Both were closer to the bottom when you are getting close to the creek. Good luck
azhuntnut Report post Posted August 14, 2008 I hiked in off of the 260 about three weeks ago setting up cameras and my boy asked me to try calling. I hadn't been on the call for five seconds when a fox just about jumped on us. It must have been under the big rocks we were sitting on. He started to run, but came right back when I called. I don't think he had ever seen a human the way he acted. David

ElkDeer Report post Posted August 19, 2008 Only had time for one stand and nothing responded. Got a late start due to new baby being up all night.
