I guess “good bull” is in the eye of the beholder. Admittedly, I had set my sights on a bull north of 370. My bull didn’t come close to that! Would I trade my 320ish bull and the experience I had getting him for a 400” bull that I showed up and shot? Not a chance!E739A8FF-D6DC-4A91-888A-AF48C97FFADE.thumb.jpeg.f0da048b398da3eafc2562e523f24ac2.jpeg

I did the opposite of you with same result in 2016 killing a 320 bull.   Killed the first bull I got in range on the 2nd day.  Saw some monsters I could have held out for and always wonder what if.  Continued to see good bulls even on the multiple packs out.  Drew the hunt with 6pts.

That is awesome.  Who did you land out hiring as a guide for 23N?

Went with Groundpounders..  Was going to use Mr. Chappell but the timing was really bad with us buying a new home and all the money being spent.  I almost used my point guard (had 19 points) to save it for another year but then my son came along and paid for it all as long as he had the choice of who to pick.   It all worked out fine...

Were you the one hunting with the dentists?

Not sure what dentists you are talking about...I was on my own with my son tagging along to help glass and make sure I did not fall down a mountain!

Oh man, not much of a story teller!   The AZ bull was about a 250 yard shot, had to sneak up behind by climbing a small mountain and getting perched on a rock ledge up above it.  HARD going for me! Double foot drop and bad legs.    The Utah one was a short stalk to a knoll and there were 3 bulls and about 40 cows up on a large smooth mountain/hill.   That was about a 700 yard shot and getting up the incline to it was a real bear for me...      My son was with me on both hunts and was invaluable in helping out.  He tagged out in Utah within hours of me.      Hope to repay the favor some day when he gets drawn in AZ  (a gazzilion bonus points, should happen very soon)

Thanks for sharing. Looks like lots of memories for you two this year, congratulations. My son has a condition that causes foot drop and atrophy in his extremities.  With the help of a couple of trekking poles and three reconstructive surgeries he still gets after it.
