BeardownAZ Report post Posted March 7, 2021 What do you prefer? Why?? I’d like to try the pistol grip from Outdoorsman. Seems like a pretty handy setup. Curious what you all have tried and like. Not looking at a brand specific but type or style.

maximus Report post Posted March 7, 2021 i used to have the outdoorsmans pistol grip with panner and didn't like it, 20 years ago i had a manfrotto 128 and went back to that on both of my tripods.

lancetkenyon Report post Posted March 7, 2021 I have a Manfrotto pistol grip. I only use it for a spotter while shooting. It does not work well for glassing. I have a couple Manfrotto pan heads too. Night and day better for glassing.
PRDATR Report post Posted March 7, 2021 Por Master Pan Head. Very stable, the arm for vertical panning is a little awkward.

BeardownAZ Report post Posted March 8, 2021 One seems very cumbersome and the other seems like it might be alright
Swivelhead Report post Posted March 8, 2021 A quality two way pan head with fluid movement is best. Get a good one and don't look back. For a light, compact option that will handle a lot of weight consider a quality panning ball head. I've used quite a few different tripod heads over the years and this is what I prefer. Pistol grip heads, nada bueno IMO.
