Trigger pull weight on long range hunting rifle?

My weatherby 2 stage peaks at 3lb 4oz and my rem 700 TT is 2lb. (both my hunting rifles)

Absolutely but with yours I'd be afraid of even bumping the gun at the wrong moment!

It really isn't that sensitive. The Timney on my 300 RUM is set to 1.5. It takes more than you would think to set it off. I tested it quite a bit on range day by knocking it around a bit with a round chambered. It doesn't go off on accident.

You do know you can "knock it around a bit" without a chambered round for the same test?

I was in South Dakota once pheasant hunting in the back seat of an Isuzu rodeo. The back window only went half down cuz of the wheel well, yeah I caught the pump on that and blew it out on the recoil. Rental car.
