desertskier21 Report post Posted February 17, 2021 Hello all. I'm relatively new to Arizona (Utah and Idaho originally) and I'm taking my elderly father and teenage son out for our first Javelina trip. I've scouted a couple of days up aroudn Cleator and Skull Valley, but would love any insight as my goal is to help fill a tag for my son and fathers first experience. Any guidance or tips are greatly appreciated. Thank you.
PRDATR Report post Posted February 17, 2021 Welcome. I'm not familiar with the area. Are you seeing any tracks? They like to bed under Palo Verde trees especially on ridge tops.
Eli Report post Posted February 17, 2021 They will come out later on colder days, sometimes 8-10am. They have hair (not fur) and generally don’t like the wind so they’ll stay out of it if they can. Spend lots of time glassing. Not familiar with that area either. Good luck!
Hunterjohnny Report post Posted February 17, 2021 Cleator and the whole Bumblebee/Crown King Road get hammered pretty hard. Seems like the southern half of the unit draws a lot more people.
