WFGinNM Report post Posted August 7, 2008 Anybody have good or bad experience with Kolpin gunboots? What model do you guys prefer, I was thinking about mounting one to my Polaris Sportsman. Thanks, --Bill
Hooked_on_Coues Report post Posted August 7, 2008 Don't buy the cheap mount, its sh...cheap. Get their most expensive one, it works well. Also make sure you order the flat rack version, not the tubular. They work fine. I did find that I cannot use mine with target turrets so I have been strapping a hard case down on the rack, then tieing the rest of my sh..stuff on top. After doing it for awhile I kinda like it better. Feel that the rifle is more secure and not bumping around as much. The hard case has alot more padding and there is no room for it to move. It does distract from the "quick draw" ability, if that is important to you. I have never glassed any deer while riding my quad anyway......
WFGinNM Report post Posted August 7, 2008 I was thinking about just using my hard case as an alternative. I do like the idea of being able to transport the gun sandwiched between the foam. I suppose I could use the couple hundred bucks I save on fuel. Thanks, --Bill
COUESAZ Report post Posted August 7, 2008 I got the one for mine that has the plastic base with a cubby hole kind of thing on it for extra ammo or something. I like the kolpin case just fine but wish i would have got another style braket for it. It is to big and takes to much space on my rack.
