cooper Report post Posted August 6, 2008 I have an XD-40 that my wife will not shoot. I would like to get a S&W 357 4 or 5 inch. Her dad raised her on revolvers so something that looks like a Glock is off limits. This is a great gun. I love it but I want something my wife will shoot. If there is anyone that wants to trade that would be the best. I don't want to have to worry about shopping around this close to the hunting season since I got drawn in 34A. This pistol comes with everything it had when I bought it, a box and a half of 40 cal. ammo, and the belt holster that holds the extra clip. I will consider $450 cash but would rather trade for a S&W 357 stainless with black grips. I would like to do a shoot before trade, you shoot mine...I shoot yours. Eagle Eye Report post Posted August 11, 2008 I'm lookin to buy the Springfield XD-40 but for a little bit more money i can get a brand new one.
COUESAZ Report post Posted August 11, 2008 Yes but the best way to look at it is you can save a bit of money and by a good used one that will do the same thing as the brand new one that was more money. It is also not one you have to do all the paper work on and register it. That is worth the used one for even the same money as a new one.
cooper Report post Posted August 12, 2008 I would like to think of this one as...Good as new...and I'm really interested in a trade. I saw a guy walk into Murphys the other day with the gun I want and sell it for $300. I should have pulled him aside and offered a trade or just buy the thing for $350; I guess thats my loss. Besides if I sell it so close to hunting season I might not have a side arm durring my hunt. I would prefer to have the pistol since I am so close to the boarder and in Mt. Lion country. Thanks for the positive feedback though...And I mean shoot the XD and the S&W. If anyone knows anyone that might be interested in the trade let me know. That was from the plastic holster I had for it. Kind of like the tactical holster. I noticed the wear, took it back and got the uncle mike's holster instead. I like the Uncle Mike's because it holds the extra clip and easily attaches to my belt but doesn't move. I also feel the XD is more secure in it.
daryl_s Report post Posted August 12, 2008 I'm lookin to buy the Springfield XD-40 but for a little bit more money i can get a brand new one. You would be lookin at close to $600 out the door for a brand new XD after taxes plus all the paperwork that was already mentioned. I sold mine and wish I still had it. I think $450 for an almost new one is a fair price.
COUESAZ Report post Posted August 12, 2008 I got mine off this site. I am not sure who i got it from but it was in great shape and has many years of service to come on my side.

COUESAZ Report post Posted August 13, 2008 Just print out a bill of sale with SN# and make sure you get to see the AZ DL of the buyer. I would be sure to see that the buyer is of age to buy a hand gun as well. You should be fine with that. You can never be sure that your gun will not be used in a crime.
