Coues79 Report post Posted December 25, 2020 My Son's Browning Hells Canyon Speed liked the Berger 156. Best load was R-26 at 57 grains using Hornady Brass. COAL 2.967. Velocity consistent between 2995-3002 over a 20 shot session. I shot the 156 with H1k in my Browning Hells Canyon LR but couldn't get them to group. 57 grains H1k with gunwerks brass. Right at 2950 fps. Both loads using CCI br2 primers.
lancetkenyon Report post Posted December 25, 2020 1:8" is minimum twist. Might stabilize, might not. Start around 51.0 and go up to 55.0gr H1000, depending on brass brand. Hornady is for this charge weight range. ADG would be about 1 gr less to start. I have gotten great results w. RL23 also in the 6.5PRC with 140 HVLD, 140 Hyb, 144 LR Hyb, and 150SMK. Haven't tried the 156 yet.
