Tub repair

Recommended Posts

Small abrasion that has been in the tub for years! A small amount of rust! Any product recommendations for repair?

 Thanks

Wet sand with 400 grit wet & dry to remove the rust, then use this repair kit. It's a 2-part epoxy.

Here another one you can order from Amazon. It's a 1-part porcelain paint.

Thanks Tony......I remember something like what you describe from an earlier attempt many years ago but needed a refresher! Appreciate your time!

Glad to help. I used one of those 1-part types on a fridge one time about 20 years ago, and it worked well. In fact, I'd bet I still have the bottle in a cabinet in my workshop, though it is likely dried up by now. 😃

Homax makes a kit too, sold at home depot.  If the gash is deep you could prefill it with 2 part epoxy then teglaze the whole tub. Rwmove all the caulking and mask everyrhing else off real good to spray it. The homax kit is like $50.  Weve done it a couple times.
