7mm Rem Mag

Recommended Posts

I ran across a new remington 700 adl synthetic chambered in 7mm Rem Mag on sale at clearance price of $325.00 . I must say I was tempted . I dont know that I need it , but hey , I dont have a rem or a 7 mag . What do you all think ? Good deal or no ? Can you gain anything over premium factory ammo by handloading ?

Thats about average for that make. Would make a great donor action for a .257 wby or the likes...

Oh yeah , 257 Wby , now thats what I've really been wanting .

Could I just get it rechambered to 7 stw??

I haven't shot her yet but she sure feels  good to hold . I dont handload and I really like the hornady light mags in my 06 , so I was thinking about trying the heavy mags SST 139 gr.

I have a 700 ADL syn/ kevlar I bought 15 yrs ago. I love it, tack drivin, coues killin machine, right out of th box.

I've done some custom work over the years. Trigger, Bore lapping, crowning, P bedding. BLA, BLA

Mine shoots Frederal Premiums 165 gr Sierras best. But some others shoot almost as well.

GOOD CHOICE.

I love my A-bolt 7mm mag, and I love the 700 actions, sounds like you have a pretty sweet little gun! The 7mm is my main coues and elk gun, although I'm "training" a .300WM right now. ;)

You might consider the Federal Fusions of the Federal blue box Classics for less expensive ammo that usually shoots well and is good on deer.

Metal prices sure have driven ammo, brass and bullet prices up in the last year.

I killed my Mexico buck with the blue box Federal stuff.. Worked flawlessly. But the buck straight down and the exit was perfect!
