thunderbolt Report post Posted July 26, 2008 I have a moultrie camera and was wanting to order the solar charger from harbor freight that some one here pointed out. My question is what battery are you guys using ? Do i need to find a rechargable 6v battery for it. And how is it hooked up ? I'm tired of buying batteries, and these gas prices are killing me to where i can't go as often. If i in fact need a rechargable 6v, where do i find it? Radio shack ? Thanks for any input. az4life Report post Posted July 26, 2008 I've heard folks use cell phone and camera batteries and hooking them up to a solar charger should give you a really long life.
huntemup Report post Posted July 26, 2008 I use the 6V rechargeable Moultrie batteries. You can buy them at Sportsmens warehouse. I have never had a battery get below 59% after 4 weeks of running. Solar panels work great.

grizzly Report post Posted July 27, 2008 Got my solar panels and batteries at Cabelas. I think they came to about $25 together, hard to beat. Also added a 2 GB sd card from Megalomart for $6 and I can leave my cams out for months.
