On the right track, however 😉 I knew Gerry well and met both he and Cain thru my mentor. Cain personally handed me the Circe call I sold on here a couple weeks ago. Blair also did a lot of writing, including a good book on turkey hunting and a couple on predator hunting. He died about 5-6 years ago.

Swivelhead Report post Posted November 18, 2020 Do not recall whether or not Sam himself wrote any articles but do remember reading about his technique. Sam advocated calling softly, expecially the first few sequences IIRC. Beyond that, don't remember much. Calling in the 50's had to be insane.

This is a good read about Sam. https://vault.si.com/vault/1966/11/07/conning-and-killing-cunning-coyotes I'll add more manana. It's some history about Tony's past. Great stuff as it was probably never published in a book.

With the alliteration in the title it made me think William Safire penned the article instead of Robert Cantwell.
