Never thought about doing this, sounds like a good way to test COAL

muledeerarea33? Report post Posted November 5, 2020 I’ve taken my press and mobile stand out shooting. Works really well for a weekend shooting trip unless the wind picks up! Leveling the scale on the center console of the truck and measuring powder sucks. 1

A normal press can be made portable with a board and clamps, portable table or cheap (Harbor Freight grinder) stand. Hand just more compact. Tailgates can also work as tables. Lots of creative, but less compact, ways if you already have equipment and are short on funds. Wind and powder scales are always a challenge. Could pre-measure powder in "Nickle" baggies if seating is the only variable. Don't forget your funnel or you'll have to improvise. There are also caliber specific hand loaders. Oh ya Mobil press is the way to go. I have one mounted to a draw bar into the two hitch in my truck

There are also caliber specific hand loaders. I used my RCBS press for many years with it mounted to a 2' long 2"x6" and two C-clamps to secure it. Same for the powder measure and a case trimmer.

I see a lot of people grouping well but off to one side of the target.
