HorseHunter Report post Posted October 19, 2020 That place is loaded with coyotes, rabbits, house cats, and little dogs. With the washes and golf courses as corridors it’s not a surprise periodic puma sighting occurs.
HuntHarder Report post Posted October 19, 2020 I watched one on the mountain between greenway and thunderbird just east of 19th ave.
AZAV8ER Report post Posted October 19, 2020 Another factor in Mt Lions spreading out is young toms looking for their own territory. Mature toms control a big area and kill or drive out any young males. Consider there are more MT lions in AZ than there have been in 100 years.

Swivelhead Report post Posted October 19, 2020 Looks like a house cat to me.
Outdoor Writer Report post Posted October 19, 2020 That's somebody's tabby kitten. Tail and ears are all wrong for a mountain lion, and if you compare its size to the surroundings, it ain't all that large.
Swivelhead Report post Posted October 19, 2020 Easy to get faked out, worked at a large facility in the vicinity of Papago Buttes. Five or six years ago, a security camera caught video of what appeared to be a mountain lion moving through it's FOV. Many people viewed the video and we were all convinced it was the real deal. Fortunately, we had a number of photography buffs who spent some time analyzing the video. Using image scale relative to background objects it was proven that the cat was just another tabby. The cat in the video posted in this thread is much easier to identify IMO. The cat itself looks domestic and the pavers on the driveway give a visual reference as to it's size.

lancetkenyon Report post Posted October 19, 2020 Especially with the mouse in it's mouth. Either that is a NYC sewer rat/FL swamp rat, or there is no way that is a lion.
