ndaniel Report post Posted July 15, 2008 I'm not too worried about shock as my bow has virtually none without a stabilizer right now, what I'm looking for is one with good counter balancing.

ndaniel Report post Posted July 15, 2008 Ha! As much as I like the Hoyt line I wasn't too impressed when I shot the Katera. For some reason I felt the "twang" in the riser after everytime I shot it. It's going to be hard for me to not shoot outside of Bowtech now.
BowNut Report post Posted July 15, 2008 Don't know why the twang probably didn't have the cams timed. I love my Katera. I look more at the draw and feel of the bow handle in my hand anyway. I think that anything you feel in the handle is after the shot and does not change were the arrow is going to go anyway it's gone by then.I do like a bow with little vibration it's just not #1 on my list of what I want out the bows I shoot. I also think that no mater what bow company you shoot they all have done great with building bows with very little vibration. My Hoyts just better!! Kinda hard to do it with the Posten's I mentioned but I would go down to a shop and try them all to find what you like.
thunderbolt Report post Posted July 17, 2008 Lost my stabilizer in alpine when i went for the weekend to shoot 2 years ago.. Picked up a cheap one from wallyworld for less than 10 dollars cause the hunt was right around the corner. The stabilizer i picked up from wallyworld worked great for me so i decided to keep it. It was a cheapo but it worked.
galiuro mountain man Report post Posted July 18, 2008 I use the limbsaver modular stabilizer and a doinker at the same time on both of my bows. I use them for vibration elimination and balance. I have one of the modules on the back of each riser (Bowtech and Mathews) and two mods up front with the doinker on the end. Works very well and is still short.
