With the exception of the dark hat, Custer, in 1873, wears the outfit he is thought to have worn at the Little Bighorn (he removed the buckskin jacket prior to the fight). Outdoor Writer Report post Posted October 8, 2020 Custer supposedly used the same rifle to shoot this bear, but there was abit of controversy involved. This is a good article about that hunt: Who Shot Custer's Bear? Custer kneels behind a huge grizzly bear splayed out on a rock, his Indian Scout Bloody Knife close behind him on his right, one of Custer’s beloved Scotch staghounds prostate with exhaustion, and his private assistant and Colonel Ludlow to his left. 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
