firstcoueswas80 Report post Posted December 2, 2004 http://www.coueswhitetail.com/az_rifle_hun...es_rifle_38.htm a guy that i have known for many many years killed this buck on the November unit 36b hunt. jake works and when he returned to camp the day he killed this buck, all he could talk about is he didnt think he was going to make it back because he ran out of water. he glasses this buck and a 85-90" buck up at around 730 from easily a mile away. he knew these deer were going to bed as they were feeding fast. he high tailed it up and over, up and over, up and over until he got to the canyon they were bedded in. once he topped over, he heard them blow and once they busted out he fired, about 60 yards away and missed the first shot, when he went to put the second round in he short stroked it, by the time he got the round in the deer were almost over the top, he threw up and this time rolled him, hitting him right in the lungs. i was supposed to go with him on this day but backed out because i had felt like poo. i have never seen anyone work as hard as he did to get this buck. the next day, we went back to the canyon where he left the body and he showed me his trail and i was shocked at how hard it was. we had sat down and glassed for MAYBE 5 minutes in this canyon and had seen close to 20 deer, 2 bucks and i went after him and compared to what he did, my trail was nothing!!! congratulations on a fine buck Jake, you worked hard for it. P.S. as far as i know he hasnt gotten it offically scored but when he does i will let you know, myself and albert aka couesstalker both say easily 95, closer to 100"
COUESAZ Report post Posted December 3, 2004 Nice buck. The one just under that one on that page looks like a buck in the rut.
