Pistol P€t€ Report post Posted August 24, 2020 Anyone in the Phoenix area know of a reputable guy for cleaning and re-greasing of bait casters? Phoenix Fishing Supply and AZ Reel works are backed up for a couple weeks. Thanks!

Delw Report post Posted August 24, 2020 no its a piece of Cake to do. depending on the bait casters I am speaking freshwater you DONT use greese, you use a very thin fine oil like a brand called rocket fuel. I am sure there are others., mineral spirits work well also for oiling the bearings just doesn't last as long so you have to re oil in a month or so depending on use. I used mine everday hundreds of casts and when I didnt have the oil handy I used the mineral spirits .

Outdoor Writer Report post Posted August 24, 2020 I started doing them myself after Mickey Delre passed away. It's easy. Just take your time. I generally use the oil that usually comes with the new reels.
