Where would you buy a cabin...

Recommended Posts

Hello boys and girls, it's been a while! I have not forgotten about all my friends here on CW.com just been super busy! I have been pursuing a career in the fire service. I am now an emt and spend all of my free time trying to get hired somewhere.

Anyway that's what I've been up to but I have a question for all of you. If you were going to buy a cabin within 30 minutes of Flagstaff where would it be. I'm asking for my mom who doesn't hunt, doesn't want to be in a neighborhood but not out in the middle of nowhere. I'm thinking maybe the Mormon Lake area. She is looking for something around 4 bedroom 2 bath. If you know of a particular place you can PM me if you want or just post your ideal area here.

Thanks for your help! I thought this might make for a fun topic!

The biggest problem going west of Flag is the water situation. It is so deep that drilling is out of site. Most people in Parks truck there water in. You would need to find something already built in Williams that has there water well done. I looked around Flag three years ago and the prices were out of site. Now they are starting to come down a bit. Munds park is a nice area, but the lots are small. There are some small housing areas south on Lake Mary road also. David

What's her budget? Does she need paved streets? Plowing during winter? Is she OK with having water hauled to her?

South of Williams? Some nice places north of Parks towards Spring Valley. Fox Ranch south of Munds Park (expensive lots for trophy cabins). Baderville-near the Snow Bowl turnoff. I would not go east of Flag due to the high winds.

Around $300,000, dirt roads ok, plowing??? probably, hauling water ok.

All good places guys thanks for the advise!

Rule out Fox Ranch because it's going to fold $60,000 HOA annual, ya right. Only 2 house under construction and they have been abandoned. Maybe they will stay afloat doing weddings at the club house, it is nice.
