Curtis Reed Report post Posted August 6, 2020 So I located this artillery projectile and don’t know specifically what it is and if it is inert. It says “fake” on the side... Although I am no expert, it certainly seems like a training round of some sort. The tip doesn’t look like a fuse... Any insight? Sorry for the mobile sideways pics. It always does that to me. Edge Report post Posted August 6, 2020 The nomenclature plate is located just inside the nose. Get right with Jesus then create an access window with grinder, plasma cutter, torch or chainsaw. But seriously, it's been fired once so probably a non explosive round..PROBABLY Notice the nylon band near the bottom appears to have rifling marks.

10Turkeys Report post Posted August 6, 2020 Looks fake to me. Rifling marks on the band. Ordnance isn't something to guess at though. Did you find this in Florence?
Curtis Reed Report post Posted August 6, 2020 No it was discarded in municipal garbage I think.
10Turkeys Report post Posted August 6, 2020 Usually dummy rounds are marked inert on them. Might be a litre or training round. Let me send the pics to a EOD tech that I know.
