John O Report post Posted June 26, 2008 I hesitate a little to post this, out of respect for the individual that was honored with this. I came across this really cool memorial last year, and was wondering if anyone knew who this was, or the story. It was in a very remote area, that will most likely get grown over, and not seen, except for those who put it there. Would prefer to keep the specific location private. CouesWhitetail Report post Posted June 26, 2008 I don't know the man, but that's a cool memorial. I like the deer and cartridges placed into the concrete. I am guessing his hunting buddies put the memorial in one of his favorite hunting spots? Amanda
More D Report post Posted June 26, 2008 That seems like a great way to take the big sleep. Seems a lot better than spreading my ashes in all of my favorite hunting grounds to help feed to soil that feeds the game I love so much. The way Mr. Torres was remembered his buddies can visit while out hunting. Very cool ......
BowNut Report post Posted June 27, 2008 That is great. One of my hunting partners did kinda the same thing for his dad years ago but not in a remote enough area and it was shot up within a year or so. It was at his favorite hunting and camping spot. There are way to many morons out there! You would think they would leave something like that alone. Good call on keeping the location to your self. Snapshot Report post Posted June 27, 2008 I know of a spot in unit 34A where that archery hunter was murdered in 2004, but I have never seen the one you are refering to. We scattered my Dad up in unit 27 last year, and I am packing in a memorial marker for him this fall.
