Squirrel n Dumplings Report post Posted May 27, 2020 What is everyone doing for RV Batteries that is working? Will the cheaper Lead Acid work if I keep fluids in check? dmoto Report post Posted May 27, 2020 If you're looking for AGM batteries, check out East Penn near 59th Ave south of I-10. They have Deka AGM's (group 27) for around $100. They are blemished (missing a handle, scratched, etc) but are otherwise new. I run them in my bass boat and have been for 7 years or so. Still going strong. az41mag Report post Posted May 27, 2020 I changed mine from the 12 volt marine battery to running two 6 volt golf cart batteries connected in series. My last set of T-105 golf cart batteries went 4.5 years before needing replaced, much better lifespan than the marine batteries. Same here on the dual 6v...I don’t run the solar charger in storage but I have a kill switch to prevent any parasitic drain. Check battery water levels periodically and I make sure it’s fully charged when I store it. My buddy keeps a battery tender on his batteries but I don’t have easy access to power on storage so I haven’t done that. AGM is less maintenance and can be installed in different orientations and without ventilation so there are advantages. If money is no object check out the Battle Born lithium batteries...I know a few fulltime RVers who e shifted to those and have been very pleased. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Between the clock on the radio, CO2 defector, and a couple other status lights. One of the best mods I’ve made to the trailer and saves a lot of headaches. If batteries are accessible you can just disconnect manually but the switch is handy and very easy to install. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Roosevelt Mark Report post Posted May 27, 2020 I buy the big ones from Walmart, about 100 buck. My 5th wheel takes 4 and the are almost 5 years old. The get charged when I'm plugged in or running the generator. I never check the water because the are in a terrible spot and have to empty the basement to get to them.
