azpackhorse Report post Posted June 3, 2008 I noticed my two Labs spending a bunch of time under one of my Pine trees in the back yard so I went to investigate, when I got under the tree I found 5 or 6 half eaten lizards and what looked to be a quail chick as it was devoured by Duke the lab. Looked up in the Pine tree and finally spotted this little guy, his parent took off before I could get a photo. I believe it is a Kestrel. Seems they have taken up residence in my Pine tree. CouesWhitetail Report post Posted June 3, 2008 Neat encounter. I believe that bird in your photo is an adult male kestrel. You can tell by the blue on his head and wings.
