ctafoya Report post Posted May 9, 2020 this time of year I usually move my powder and primers inside from the garage. This year I have a lot more inventory and less room with all the kids here for lockdown. Anyone have issues from leaving powder in the garage in the heat? muledeerarea33? Report post Posted May 9, 2020 Not really. It all shoots mostly the same as long as shooting conditions are the same. I shoot from freezing up to 95-100. Try to keep it 40-80 degrees if I can. Some powders are more sensitive to temp. If I can, I stay away from them but not always the case.

lancetkenyon Report post Posted May 9, 2020 No telling how it is stored during it's lifespan before the consumer buys it. I would be more worried about keeping it dry.
ctafoya Report post Posted May 9, 2020 Thanks for the info. I might still throw the kids in the garage instead. 1
10Turkeys Report post Posted May 9, 2020 I bought this can before I went into government housing in 78. Stayed outside in a shed for at least 8 years. I used some of it probably 15 years ago, and it still worked. Just pulled the top off and checked the powder, still good.
Hoss50 Report post Posted May 9, 2020 Keep it dry and you are gonna be fine for awhile. I have winchester powder in the old round cardboard cylinders that is fine and has spent many years in the heat. That said I would prefer to keep it inside, but if that isn't an option keep it as cool as you can and dry.
