AZ402 Report post Posted May 31, 2008 Faber and Swanson have never fought. Fabers only lose was to UFC 155'er Tyson Griffen. UFC would have to create a 145lb class. TAM Report post Posted May 31, 2008 Faber could easily step up to 155 and fight in the UFC. That's what Pulver did for years. The decision probably comes down to money. He had faber stund a couple times and if he would have jumped on it like the old pulver it would have been done. I do not agree with the 8 punches to the back of the head when faber had pulver knocked loopy that one time. It was direct back of the head full out punches. Good five rounds though for sure. I think Pulver was a little gun shy after getting hit by a couple heavy rights from Faber early on and just stayed to cautious the rest of the fight. I agree about the strikes to the back of the head. Faber did prove that he's got a quick heavy right hand. So if Jens couldn't wipe the cocky smile off the pretty boys face then who's going too? I doubt Cub Swanson could go five rounds with him. For me it's only fun to watch when there is a legitimate challenger and right now I don't see anyone taking the belt away from Faber. What's up with the corn rows anyway? I can only imagine the rotten stench of arrogance emitting from Faber as he struts around his victory party. Someone's gotta deflate that boys ego! That kid (he's actually only 4 years younger than Jens by the way) is just too cocky for me. All i got to say is Torres might be my new favorite fighter. That dude is a STUD. mikep35 Report post Posted June 2, 2008 Now these were some good quality fights. I wish all the people who watched mma for the first time on cbs could have seen the the last two wec fights. Perfect examples of true mma. These fights were phenomenal. I can't stand faber but I definitely respect him after that fight. If Pulver could've figured out that dang bernard hopkins-type lead right hand that faber kept hitting him with I think it would've been a different fight. Excellent fight anyway.
