Glassing question?

When glassing for coues should u glass looking up a mountian or on the mountain looking down or both i have heard u have to glass up on the mountain but never down is this true????

Where ever you think a deer should/could be glass there. Where ever you think a deer shouldnt/couldnt be, glass there ESPECIALLY if glassing for coues.

If you are glassing uphill, it is easier to see bucks bedded underneath the trees. Not so easy to find bedded deer if you are glassing downhill . So glassing uphill may be better during the day when deer are bedded.

When glassing uphill, the trees tend to obscure the hillside behind them more, thus hiding deer actually in the open. When glassing down from above, it is easier to see between the trees. Glassing downhill may be better in early morning and evening when deer are moving between the trees.
