Red Rabbit Report post Posted May 29, 2008 If you are glassing uphill, it is easier to see bucks bedded underneath the trees. Not so easy to find bedded deer if you are glassing downhill . So glassing uphill may be better during the day when deer are bedded. When glassing uphill, the trees tend to obscure the hillside behind them more, thus hiding deer actually in the open. When glassing down from above, it is easier to see between the trees. Glassing downhill may be better in early morning and evening when deer are moving between the trees.
