Has anyone been seeing baby quail??! I havent seen any this year. Ive been seeing adults but have noticed no babies. ive seen a couple babies in my neighborhood. any one else notice this?

Only gambels would have young this early and yes I've seen a few broods. One was acually at the new GF office a week ago.

Just took these pictures out behind my house. It would be nice if all 15 would make it to maturity.

seen a few, but not as many as I would like to... the desert birds are hurting..

 

lets hope for another good monsoon season down south.. should that happen, it will be a Mearns banner year!!

I keep a couple of small water holes filled up on my property for the small game, and there are always a good covey of quail that come through and drink but I have not seen any chicks yet?

We do have a packrat population explosion this year

just saw a family group of a pair with 9 chicks on my run out in the saguaro nat park at the end of broadway.. The chicks could just barely fly a few feet...

Yeah, had this one over a month. My mom found him at her work, he had been left by his family!

There is a ton this year! Most I have ever seen. I work up in Carefree and I have seen them daily for the past month. Some eggs still haven't hatched, saw a nest yesterday. Should be a great year for hunting.

Are these hatches being seen near residential areas or out in the desert away from watered plants and grass?

I saw a pair with 6-8 little ones. Central and McDowell, downtown Phoenix.
