Nebraska402 Report post Posted April 6, 2020 I need some help loading up some Berger VLDs for my 30-06. I currently just have your standard rcbs die set. What do I need to buy to micro seat these? A whole new die or is something made I can screw into my current rcbs die? Thanks for your help. -Marshall
Delw Report post Posted April 6, 2020 I bought one a long time ago I think it was a redding maybe lyman(it was a odd name at the time) for my 300 winmag, wasnt a big deal to me. too many variables in most loaders to worry about .005 seating depth as discussed in another thread earlier. They do have dies made with them and some have addons. if you know what your seating plunger threads are lets say 1/4-28 you can figure it out with the set up you have. 1/28 = .0357 per full revolution, 20 threads per inch is 1/20= .050 per revolution. etc etc. be cheaper just to get know how many threads per inch is the screw and us that
rcdinaz Report post Posted April 6, 2020 It will come with the VLD insert for the bullet when you order. This assures the tip is not bottoming out when you seat causing the bullet to be offset. Call Redding or RCBS and tell them what you are loading, they will give you the exact part#’s or sell them to you.

450Dakota Report post Posted April 7, 2020 Check out Forster also. I prefer them over the Redding because Redding doesn't recommend using theirs on compressed loads.
