CouesPursuit Report post Posted April 1, 2020 Some good news in the midst of things - After several of the busiest months I've ever had, I was finally able to bring my oldest out fishing for a daddy-daughter day. Roosevelt didn't disappoint. This angel fished from 8am to 4pm and wasn't the reason we had to come home. We caught and released well over a dozen of the recently stocked black-nose crappie - A few spiny yellows- And kept some slabs - After a decade, the outlook for Roosevelt is finally shaping up in my humble opinion. Stay safe and enjoy what you can, CWT! 29

CouesPursuit Report post Posted April 4, 2020 Thank you everyone for the nice words! Got after it again today and kept 8 females in the 14-17" range, throwing back another dozen or so 10-12" crappie and same for largemouth. I'm catching fish that are still staging in deeper water but the eggs look like they still have weeks to go. Take care 👍🏼

CouesPursuit Report post Posted April 4, 2020 I didn't see any bass fisherman actually land a fish with my eyes on the little one and my own rods but I got 10 bass long lining using a 1/16oz black spin jig with a kalin's BBC.
Shane.A.Luke Report post Posted April 4, 2020 Thanks for posting. Your daughter is very cute. I am taking my 12 and 14 yo sons out tomorrow. They are tired of Fortnite. Appreciate the tip on Kalin BBC and 1/16oz head, have plenty. Did anyone try minnows recently? I don't even know if Liar's Korner will be open.
CouesPursuit Report post Posted April 4, 2020 Thanks, Shane. If you are headed up during business hours Spring Creek on the salt side is the only place at Roosevelt itself. Someone please prove me wrong for all our sakes! BBC for bass 2 days this week and John Deere Green for the bigger crappie. Minnow-only rigs is what caught the yellows and most of the black-nose though if you are just looking at getting some fish on the hook for the kids.
