ndaniel Report post Posted May 20, 2008 What strings are you shooting? I've heard good things about Winners Choice and Vapor Trails, I sure do wish Shooters Edge was still making strings, he did an excellent job at a good price.
Redman Report post Posted May 21, 2008 Bucknasty Strings are great, I am currently shooting them. H&M strings are also good. Both are priced under $65 for strings and cables. Redman

jamaro Report post Posted May 21, 2008 I am sure you know that all strings are made from basically the same materials... Spectran and Dyneema... and the String makers just use different percentages of the material in there String types.. 452x, 8125, etc... The real difference is in the manufacturing techniques... We did a show over on www.bowcast.com with the guys from G5 and they seem to have realized that the key is in the manufacturing. Theyhave a pretty good process down with there Metrao strings.... They worked with the string manufactures to determine how much pre-stretch is enough and what is the best way to make the final product... I don't know what you are shooting but you might want to give them a look.... J- I think the Cardiac came with Metrao strings??? am I wrong????
Coues Sniper Report post Posted May 21, 2008 I think the Cardiac came with Metrao strings??? am I wrong???? Although I think Ross is somehow affiliated with Metrao, the Cardiac comes with Winners Choice strings. Absolutely can't go wrong with them. Bucknasty also makes a nice string. Stock strings on the Bowtechs are nice too.
ndaniel Report post Posted May 22, 2008 I'm shooting a Bowtech Tribute that I just bought off a guy, and I'm replacing the string. I decided to go with Winner's Choice as I always hear good things about them.

Stock strings on the Bowtechs are nice too. G5 used to make all of the Ross Parts... until Ross stopped paying the bills, so G5 used some of those parts for the Quest... So I don't think the Cardiac's are being made anymore unless Bowtech is making them because Bowtech bought the Ross name and Andy Ross... WHO used to be Renegade... But Metrao is the name of the string that G5 makes.... There is also a Metrao banner on the Ross website... G5 is starting to make strings for other companies... ie Elite. Ross doesn't make bows they basically farm out most, if not all of the work then put there name on it... J-
