I see your point but while your changing out a head gasket you don't have 23 annoying kids asking retarded questions and showing their weiners to the girl next to them. I’m about half that with my best figured in the past 20 years. Lube techs are worse than kids! They not only ask questions, they wanna borrow stuff. It’s like asking a teacher to borrow their desk and chairs. Forget about pencils, paper, and chalk. That equivalent is consequential damage in my industry. According to the internet, we don’t make that much difference in wages. A low level tech makes what a low level teacher makes. High level of experience is very similar. Then they shouldn't have signed up as teachers. just like cops and firemen complaining there jobs are too dangerous. Funny cause I know hundreds of people who make about $1733.00 a month eat shitty food have cramped living quarters physically worked there butt's off and they volunteered to put there life on the line.

Delw, God bless your daughter and all our enlistees. I hired on under a certain peanut farmer....honorable trade, but he had a D before his name. Look at this chart at military pay raises. The lowest pay raises came under those presidents with D's before their name. They should be ashamed. Cost of living increases via inflation is what, 3%? Being a teacher is a calling, not a career. I originally went to college for just that, my heart was on fire for it at the time. Glad I did not go that route. I feel bad for teachers especially here in az.

Delw Report post Posted May 8, 2020 Always pissed me off how little the military got paid. but if they excell in it and stay in they make good money, My Father did for 23 years. My point of this wasnt to high 5 the military but to laugh at the complainers about there jobs. a f'n conviences store worker has a more dangerous job than a cop because they cant protect themselves. alot of teachers are a bunch of cry babies. My wifes Best friend is one and has been for dang near 25 years. she worked her butt off to pay for her schooling and never complained. she makes pretty good money now and shes happy. too many people want the money but dont want to put in the time, everyone thinks they deserve top pay when they start.

biglakejake Report post Posted May 8, 2020 possible effect of the virus scare. pulled the newly acquired old starcraft 17ft up to eze marine with my old f250/460cid the other day and had to back it around the lot like three times for the service manager to be happy where i was leaving it. pulled out on the hiway and immediately lost power so i angled off the road to a stop in a flat place. vapor lock. raised the hood for the usual 1 1/2 hours it takes to run again. about 40 minutes along and a young fellow with one tooth and an ancient ford ranger stops and asks if i need help. i told him some prayers and it would start again in about an hour. about a half hour later he leans in the drivers window and wakes me up-his ranger is nowhere to be seen so i was on point quickly. he hands me an alibertos bag and this huge can of az iced tea, wishes me luck and runs back across the hiway to his ranger and smokes on down the road. weird. quite a gentleman. 460 started this time about 10 minutes early. lee 3

Coach Report post Posted May 8, 2020 Just gotta say, my wife is a teacher and they had to completely adjust to this thing at the drop of a hat. She's got to coordinate zoom meetings with 50+ students, and carry on like normal. They still have to create lesson plans, everything they had to do before, but with a lot more dumped on them. Now, they also get super upset parents who are having issues adjusting. If anything, they should be recognized for how quickly they adjusted and kept on teaching despite the added hardships. FWIW, I just read this to her, and her response was, the douchebag who suggested teachers stop getting paid should get his butt kicked, and she's willing to do it. So there's that.
