Bull Elk hunt in November unit 3a & 3c - need ideas

it's horn season.  get out starting now and put miles on your boots.  steeper the better and bulls don't like mud any better than you do.

my earlier suggestion is where most people start-black canyon lake and the dead center of the unit.  lots of pressure.

2 points:

only about 10% of tag holders will be out on any given day sunday thru thursday of the late hunt.

there are bulls from hutch road to the rim road and from sr77 to the young road-learn the exact boundaries of your unit.

and whatever you do don't hunt anywhere near town

Thanks for the pointers (no pun intended).  Like I said, it's my 1st hunt & sont know the area tol well.  I have a few months - live just outside Snowflake so it's not that bad of drive.

Someone was bored.  Killing time until the seasons start.  🤣🤣🤣

I would guess so.  No biggy, I'm a big kid and will figure it out.  Most do a hunt with a couple people, it's fun that way.

Man, you guys are brutal.  Everyone here had a "first ever elk hunt".

Kudos to the guy's giving sincere advice.

Ive been on several late hunts.  They will test your mental fortitude.  After day 4, hiking miles up and down draws and canyons with no elk spotted, cold and no sleep, your mind will try to convince you to throw in the towel. Overcome this and your chance of success will increase.  Good luck!

LOL- I plenty of time for patience and fortitude with no towel guys.  I will prevail. 👍

Anyone care to join my hike? 😁

you have a great tag. 30-06, knife, and 10x42s.

10 x 42s??

I know it's not a great time of year, the bulls are all tuckered out from rutting & competing.  It's all about the food at this point.

Who are you talking about?  I've really heard nothing bad in these posts.
