For all you luck archery bull elk people out there. I was quite surprised this morning to wake up and find this on my porch in doney park. This should really help the grass and green things up.

Thats what it looked like out of my blind window after sitting there a couple of hours yesterday

Great stuff but not when you are sitting a tank waiting on birds to come in. :(

Just need one to gobble 2-3 times.

Looked up that Tusayan on the south rim received 0.82" of precipitation. That will do well as unit 9 has been dry.

Amanda, your elk hunt spot received about 0.37"

I as wondering how your hunt was going. That same thing happened to me over on the Navajo Resev. a few years back and I was lucky enough to see a bird just befor dark. I went to my truck and got a flashlight and followed his tracks to his roost and was there one hour before daylight standing in a foot of snow and caught him coming back out of the same thicket he went in on. He gobbled over 60 times before flying down and it was nerve racking to say the least.

Hope you have more days to pursue a bird. Sometimes this weather gets these gobblers talking.

Good luck!

I will be heading out Friday about midnight to hopefully locate a bird before daylight. I will be hunting for a couple more days and hopefully get it done.

This hunt to me so far has been like a fall hunt. Sure has not been like the last few years IMO.

Wish they would gobble!!! But where ever I have been they have been almost completely silent. :( Don't matter if its

three in the morning or 10 at night NO GOBBLES!

It was the same with me. The turkey I shot was the only one I saw and heard. I walked up on it and we both were surprised. Shot him at 50yds flying across a canyon trying to get away. Here's a picture of the last turkey in unit 22.post-1903-1210830523_thumb.jpg
