GameHauler Report post Posted May 12, 2008 It does not matter if you have $100.00 or thousands of dollars wrapped up in your optics, They have to be cleaned of the dust and such. What are you folks doing both in the field and at home after a trip? I have things I do but wanted to get more input for me and the guys that are looking at dumping some change into new glass for upcoming hunts.
DesertBull Report post Posted May 12, 2008 I clean them under the faucet at home and then blow the water off with compressed air. Put a little dab of oil on the hinge after it dries. In the field, I have a brush with squeeze bulb on the end that I can remove dust off the lens. I never wipe the lens with tissue in the field. Too much dust on the glass, most of which you cannot see and will eventually wear through the coatings.
ajohunter Report post Posted May 12, 2008 I carry a swarovski cleaning kit in my pack. I also started carrying a small bottle of canned air from the office supply store to blow dust off. And I always use the lens covers, a little dust prevention goes a long way...
