azelkhunter69 Report post Posted December 28, 2019 Too early to talk about what we will see this year for antler growth? I am not a weatherman, but so far it seems things are shaping up nicely for another good year. Curious to see what some of you that really look into this sort of thing think. Lazy-H98 Report post Posted December 28, 2019 Back to back good winter precipitation (2018 and 2019) is the recipe for full potential. Now only if 2020 packs a good monsoon (unlike 2019), so those bulls can finish out strong. It could be the year to be holding a tag, fingers crossed.
naturebob Report post Posted December 29, 2019 I only have 4 points, but got lucky in 1996 and drew early rifle bull in unit 1 with just 3 points. Back then 6000 apps and 50 tags. I see now over 8000 apps and just 40 tags. Odds are gettin tougher. Good Luck all...........BOB!
vitalzone Report post Posted December 31, 2019 seems the lack in monsoon rains may have affected the late food sources for the elk. Could be a down year, after a great year.

Like you think their bodies are deprived right now and that will translate into smaller antlers even though they will be rich in feed from before they drop their horns in 2020 through the early stages of growth. I always wonder about that
