couesdiehard Report post Posted April 30, 2008 I have already found something that changed between the Recommendations and the Regulations. Under the "archery-only nonpermit tag required deer " on page 38 of the regs units 16A and 42 that were recommended to have seasons from Dec. 12, 2008 to Jan 31, 2009 now have seasons from Jan 1, 2009 to Jan 31, 2009 and the 15s now have seasons from Dec 12, 2008 to Jan 31, 2009. Shortened one of my favorite archery hunts for me. Lee
.270 Report post Posted April 30, 2008 well, i perused em quickly. didn't see a lot of changes other than some drastic cuts in the december coues tags and some cuts in the areas i always apply for bighorn in. also see where a lot of the hunts that were 10 day are now 7. lost the 2nd weekend. but i did see one thing that i didn't like, i mean other than the whole azgfd, on page 9, we now have, and you asked for it, "ETHICS". while i agree with a lot of what they have written, i think it is bad form to try to legislate ethics and don't like the word applied anywhere in law. i can see a buncha folks gettin' hammerd by ethics rule #1. any of you guys try to hunt during the late nov./early dec. bull elk hunts last year? when we had all the record rain. if they try to enforce these "ETHICS", if you get off the pavement, you'll get an ethics ticket. you couldn't walk in the road without damaging it during that hunt last year. i guess it's ok for anyone who isn't hunting to drive on a muddy road tho. just can't do it if you're hunting. #4 is a good one too. treat the lands as if they're yours. ok, none o' you clowns can hunt anywhere i am, becuase i'm gonna treat it as if it's mine and lock the gates. #2 will be tried and tested too. remember, don't use your quad. but it's ok if you're out there just tearin' up the country on a dirt bike. and if ya leave your treestand too long it can be subject to seizure. when i still drunk whiskey and takillya, i was subject to seizure too. is that the same thing? i don't know guys, this "ETHICS" deal is a little too vague for me. i can see some johnny by the book gungho bunnypig gettin' his ears pinned back if he tries some o' this ethics stuff on the right guy. i can't wait till the late bull hunt and they start givin' out tickets for muddy road drivin'. first time i had a tag since 2000. i might get a little perturbed if somebody tries to stop me from fillin' it. Lark.

Lark. I agree with you. I was on the November and December bull hunts last year. There were people everywhere getting stuck, nothing they could do about it but get stuck worse. I'd get stuck too if I only got one chance in ten years to get out. I guess I could get out of rule #1 using rule #4. If it was my land I'd definately get stuck. And how abvout rule #3? How close is nearby, is it illegal or unethical to sit water and have some cattle get a drink?
4Falls Report post Posted April 30, 2008 On one hand you cant hunt NEAR a waterhole that cattle MAY be using then on the other hand they tell you waterholse belong to everyone and EVERYONE should be able to enjoy them. So what do you do? Cant wait to see what happens when G&F tries to confiscate some guys 380" bull because some cattle came waltzing in as he was field dressing it.
