azdbllung Report post Posted October 31, 2019 Looking for a good Radar Detector. Anyone have input on what’s the best one for the money or have one for sale? Looking for one that isn’t annoying w/ false alarms. Thx

n2horns Report post Posted October 31, 2019 I use the Waze app, workes so far. I would be interested in one too.
duckhunter175 Report post Posted October 31, 2019 Use waze... a fuzz buster on the dash won't help you with laser... other than letting you know you are busted.
eddielasvegas Report post Posted October 31, 2019 Do not waste your time or money with V1. There was a time when it was the cream of the crop, but no more. Go to their web site and try to buy one......you cannot. Been that way for some time (months) and there is much speculation they are announcing a new RD or are done as an ongoing concern. Uniden R3 (no arrows) or R7 (arrow like V1) are excellent RDs. Escort Max 360 is a also a VG RD. There are a couple others whose names escape me. None of them can filter out all BSM, DCC and other technology that wreaks havoc with RDs. Some are btter than others, but you will get false positives no matter the RD you use. That's why I sold my V1 and R1....just too much of a PITA to deal with false alerts and ultimately desensitizes you to the deal thing. Using an RD to detect laser is called a TWS feature. That's a Ticket Warning System. Once your RD knows of the laser, it's too late. You can only jam laser and that is involved and expensive and may get you in trouble if caught. Look into ALP for laser jamming for your car. Waze, while useful, has its limitations in low travel areas, plus I do not want to depend on others to click the button in Waze to update the radar/cop/laser location. Good luck, Eddie

trphyhntr Report post Posted October 31, 2019 have you tried driving the speed limit? 5
azdbllung Report post Posted October 31, 2019 17 minutes ago, trphyhntr said: have you tried driving the speed limit? They call them speed "Traps" for a reason. Purely unconstitutional as far as i'm concerned, but hey AZ wants an easy money grab and nobody speaks up loud enough to challenge it. Why not beat the sleezy system if you can?

trphyhntr Report post Posted October 31, 2019 4 minutes ago, azdbllung said: They call them speed "Traps" for a reason. how is it a trap when the speed limit is posted on a sign before entering said speed trap
azdbllung Report post Posted October 31, 2019 2 minutes ago, trphyhntr said: how is it a trap when the speed limit is posted on a sign before entering said speed trap Because most of those speed traps are on sections of roads where 10-15 mph over the posted limit IS reasonable/prudent. Therefore its a trap. A money grab. Explain how its not?
