J Um, Jason.... lest I remind you his comments were expressed under freedom of speech and he did state that he didn't mean for it to be taken that way..... and his statement was not as racist as they come..... it would be similar to a black man saying "why would I vote for a white man when I can vote for a black man instead"..... I guess I could throw a wall-eyed fit and say he is a black bigot.... but I bet I wouldn't... It is socially acceptable for me to "comfortable" with being called a "Cracker" or "Whitie" by people of color..... but God Forbid an Anglo EVER say anything off the cuff that can be construed as Race related...... I guess what I am saying is Toughen Up.... Please explain to me how that helps the COMMON PEOPLE OF THE UNITED STATES? You know good and well that all they will do with that money is blow it on some "program" or give it to Africa, Asia, or some other "less fortunate" country. .270 Report post Posted May 6, 2008 that and the oil companies will just raise the price to cover the tax, increasing what we pay for it. remember this, when someone says "tax", it's just a quick way of saying they are gonna take more of "YOUR" money. big corporations couldn't care less about taxes on their product. they just raise the price of the product to cover it. and who pays the difference? c'mon, you know the answer. you do. and if you look at it like an accountant, increasing the taxes on a product actually puts more profit on the black line. if you charge a dollar for something and the taxes are raised, you have to increase the price you get for it to cover the tax increase, or you will miss your profit margin. so while the percentage of profit doesn't change, the actual profit, the bottom line does. because the cost of the product has rissen. that's why car manufacturers don't mind all the emission and safety rules they have to abide by. they get more for the car, that improves the bottom line. remember, when the day is done, taxes come out of our pockets. dosn't matter what the tax is on. in the end, we pay it. I was the most qualified and I was who the people that did the interviewing wanted to hire but Human Resources told them no. I was not supposed to know the reason but I found out through my "connection." I will not say what company because I still plan on working there in the future.
