Couesdeer Report post Posted October 26, 2019 I have a Smith and Wesson 1500 chambered in 30-06 that I would like to sell. It started out as a barreled action bought here last spring. It was rough on the exterior, but borescoping showed that it had not been shot much as all. I blasted the metal and applied Coyote tan Cerakote to all metal surfaces minus the scope rings. I also purchased a new take off black synthetic Weatherby Vanguard stock for the rifle. Bases are weavers and the rings are generic. Scope is a 3-9x40 Leupold VX-2 with CDS elevation turret. (Duplex reticle) I have only fired 9 rounds through the rifle. Took it to the range this morning with a couple of odd loads from my stash. Three to get to zero at 100 and these two groups. 150 Gr remington factory stuff shot just over an inch and some 180 gr handloads shot at just under an inch. Not great, but not bad. I just wanted to make sure the rifle wasn't spraying bullets all over the place. I am sure with some handloading and tinkering for this rifle it should shoot even better. $300 for the rifle minus scope or $500 with scope. FTF in the Tucson area would be nice, but if you really want it, we can discuss shipping. Also, if you really want the stock to match the metal, i would be happy to Cerakote it as well. hoghntr Report post Posted November 17, 2019 They are really great rifles. For factory ammo mine always seem to really like Federal Premium.
