Tiger fan Report post Posted October 23, 2019 I have a tag for unit 33. I’m in South Carolina so I’m doing my scouting using google maps. I am thinking of taking Bellota Ranch Rd from Redington Rd, parking where the road forks for Chimney Rock, and hiking north into the mountains to set up camp and hunt for a few days. Is a 2WD truck going to be ok to get up Bellota Ranch Rd to the fork? Anything else I should know about this area? Thanks, Daniel
muledeerarea33? Report post Posted October 23, 2019 Should get you there fine unless it’s rainy or snowy, if so just drive easy.
AZLance Report post Posted October 23, 2019 Should be good, get there early, as there is always a truck parked there...
azhamill Report post Posted October 23, 2019 I was just in there on a JR hunt and the Rd is A little sketchy in a few spots for a 2wd for a truck with a light butt end. Like muledeerarea33? Said if the weather isn’t up to par, not a good place to go. What hunt do you have?

turbo Report post Posted October 24, 2019 There are lots of bucks in that country. Arizona has lots of backpack hunters, but the vast landscape leave plenty of deer for all. You will have a memorable hunt. Post the photos, success or not, and good luck.
