10Turkeys Report post Posted November 13, 2019 Vapor trails are fun to watch in a spotting scope, don't see them that often. I'm not sure what conditions cause them. My BIL was on a Antelope hunt in Wyoming and the guide filmed the shot and it has a vapor trail. I'll see if I can't get the video and post it. Video is posted in Antelope, if you can open it. PRDATR Report post Posted November 14, 2019 I have only seen a vapor trail a few times in fog or when the humidity was high. On the other hand I have watched the heat wave of a bullet behind a spotting scope as it came into view in the bottom of the objective and followed it to the target that was 500 yards away on a warm day. Hoss50 Report post Posted November 18, 2019 We have fun shooting at the 200 yard steel with pistols sometimes, and if you are acting as a spotter with binoculars you can see the bullets flying through the air before they hit the steel. The big slower calibers like 45LC are the best.

duckhunter175 Report post Posted January 25, 2020 Well- the good news is that she shoots just as good as she looks-- Topped with a Razor AMG 6-24, I ran some 115gr VLD handloads leftover from its predecessor... first 3rd group at 100 was .3... had a chance to take it along on a deer hunt. Only saw bucks that were too young BUT, saw a big boar hog on the menu and at just over 100 yards the 115gr Berger at 3400 literally dissolved the spinal column on a 175lb pig-- a pocket knife was all I needed to get the head off for a euro. Working on the 131s now but just couldn't wait to see how she did! Also- I must say, I'm truly impressed with the AMG. Love the turrets and controls- very sharp glass. duckhunter175 Report post Posted January 30, 2020 Settled on a load I think-- running 7828ssc, 3303fps, getting 1" @ 200, probably room to tighten up by playing with seating depth but this will work for now with a hunt coming up in 3 weeks. I expect if I can find Retumbo or if I want to run RL33 I could reach 3350-3400
