muledeerarea33? Report post Posted October 13, 2019 In the market for a new bag. My last one was a Teton with the taffeta outer shell. It lasted 13 years before it finally got so many rips and tears in it I need a new one. So I’m asking, should I go with a similar outer shell or upgrade to canvas? Is canvas an upgrade? Weight isn’t an issue.
Curtis Reed Report post Posted October 19, 2019 I love a good quality down bag with nylon ripstop shell. If you are a side sleeper, the Nemo spoon bags are hard to beat. I use a Nemo Salsa 15 and it’s the best, most comfortable bag i’ve owned because I sleep on my side.
n2horns Report post Posted October 20, 2019 Bags or quilts are personal things. Everyone sleeps differently. I have heard good things about butler bags, especially if weight isnt an issue. https://www.butlerbags.us/product/all-season-sleeping-bag/ I use a down quilt from here, have had several and still use them today. https://enlightenedequipment.com/revelation-quilts/
muledeerarea33? Report post Posted October 21, 2019 I ended up getting the same Teton I bought new 13 years ago. I bought my cot from them at the same time as my sleeping bag. My cot broke this year. I emailed them last week and they mailed me a new one. With service like that and the fact that it lasted 13 years of hard use, I decided to stick with them.
