Lena Ellison' yessir. less than two hours. growing up i always saw the Q ranch on FS maps as a wild, remote corner of the state. i was first introduced to the history reading slim ellisons "cowboys under the mogollon rim". surprised to see just a moment ago my 20 year old review of the book is still posted on amazon. good job, lee
dusty Report post Posted October 11, 2019 I've read that same book. Colonel Ellison had a ranch west of Tonto Crk, now Ellison crk subdivision. He met out some vigilante justice back in those days and the powers back in Washington held up statehood because of it and the pleasant valley war. I'm not sure but I think Brady Ellison from Globe is a descendant and he killed a bear when he was 11 yrs old.
