My Rights As An American Report post Posted September 29, 2019 Recycled some old rims today but was bummed to get $.20/pound. This was downtown Mesa. What kind of prices are you getting and where? I have taught my kids to recycle aluminum and plastic, and they get all of the money. Teaches them lots of lessons. This was the first time recycling rims. Would like to get them more. Thanks. Edge Report post Posted September 29, 2019 Sounds about right for clean aluminum
Delw Report post Posted September 29, 2019 I feel your pain, we load up 15 55 gal drums of Clean alum millings once a month and our son who saves cans gets more than we do per lbs. Solids get us a bit more though Dont remember the exact amount per lb. We use barry metals on the west side cause they pick up (not cans just our machine shop crap.) Anymore its not worth saving alum if you consider storage space for 15-20 55 gal drums.
300RUM Report post Posted September 29, 2019 Two steel rims, one laying flat and the other standing inside of it, recycle into a decent jack stand.

muledeerarea33? Report post Posted October 7, 2019 I got closer to .40cents last time I took in clean aluminum but that was two years ago. Steel was $100/ton and clean copper was $1.30-$2.
My Rights As An American Report post Posted October 8, 2019 Yeah, prices sure have changed. Was getting $1.50 for cans, $.60 for plastic bottles, over $3 for clean copper. Kids were doing well a few years ago! Need to find a way to get neighbors to keep their cans for the kids! That way the kids can work a bit to collect and get a better understanding of putting in effort for a result. You know, capitalism, not socialism! 😀

My Rights As An American Report post Posted October 8, 2019 Yeah, I consistently get $.30 per pound now. But it takes A LOT to make anything.
25-06 Report post Posted October 8, 2019 When the dollar tanks metals will go up in price. Let's just hope it doesn't happen anytime soon.
