The federal government is sending each and every one of us a $600 rebate.

If we spend that money at Wal-Mart, the money will go to China.

If we spend it on gasoline, it will go to the Arabs,

if we purchase a computer it will go to India,

if we purchase fruit and vegetables it will go to Mexico, Honduras, and Guatemala,

if we purchase a good car it will go to Japan,

if we purchase useless crap it will go to Taiwan.

None of it will help the American economy.

The only way to keep that money here at home is to buy hookers

and beer, since these are the only useful products still produced in the US.

I don't believe Tony was referring to tax refunds. I believe he was referring to the rebates that Uncle Sam is supposed to be issuing to most everyone who grossed over like $3500 last year.

Even if you don't get a tax refund you can still qualify for this one-shot deal. Am I right Tony?

NO... Although I don't have to worry about it, wish I did though.

Phase Out of the Stimulus Payment

The stimulus payment –– both the basic component and the additional funds for qualifying children –– begins to phase out for individuals with adjusted gross incomes (AGI) over $75,000 and married couples who file a joint return with AGI over $150,000. The combined payment is reduced by 5 percent of the income above the AGI thresholds.

Here are two examples of how the phase out works:

*

An individual with AGI of $80,000 and federal income tax liability in excess of $600 would qualify for a basic rebate of $600. Because this individual’s AGI exceeds $75,000, however, her rebate is reduced by $250 (the credit is reduced by multiplying the amount of AGI over $75,000 by 5%). The taxpayer receives an economic stimulus payment of $350.

*

A married couple with two children, AGI of $160,000 and federal income tax liability before the child tax credit exceeding $1,200 qualifies for a basic rebate of $1,200 and an additional qualifying child credit of $600 for a total rebate of $1,800. But because the couple’s AGI exceeds $150,000, their rebate is reduced by $500 (the amount of AGI over $150,000 multiplied by 5%). The couple receives an economic stimulus payment of $1,300.

I think they Should Not give us the checks. Then they could pool all those $$$$ together and contract with local businesses (Contractors), that employ only American Citizens, and build the Great Wall of Mexico with that money!!!

Winner, winner Chicken dinner!!!!! Money stays in the US and is spent on MUCH need infastructure!! ;)

If I recall the letter I recieved from the IRS not everyone will get the payment. I believe it said something to the affect that if your household income is greater than $75,000.00 the payment will be "deminished or eliminated"

If you get the payment I would suggest a fine american made bow, fly rod or rifle.
