cjl2010 Report post Posted September 6, 2019 Anybody have a Larry Willis die for belted mags? If possible I’d really like to borrow one. I’ll pay shipping both ways. Thanks Cliff
PRDATR Report post Posted September 6, 2019 How many times have they been reloaded and are you bumping the shoulder back too much?
cjl2010 Report post Posted September 6, 2019 Sized 3 times with .002 shoulder bump. This rifle has poor extraction but my buddy doesn’t want to spend anymore money on it. To make up for poor extraction timing I was hoping sizing the base down smaller will get him by.
PRDATR Report post Posted September 6, 2019 I'm not a fan of bumping the shoulder back on belted magnums, would rather neck size on a bolt gun. Dis you check case length to see how much they stretched and if they need trimming?
cjl2010 Report post Posted September 6, 2019 I Fl size everything. Trim length is good. Everything chambers perfect. After firing bolt lift is easy but there isn’t enough primary extraction to pop the case out. Have to tap handle back to remove case from chamber. first two firings everything worked as advertised. On the 3rd firing is when the issue starts.

10Turkeys Report post Posted September 6, 2019 What kind of brass are you using? When you seat the primer on the third firing, how tight is it?
cjl2010 Report post Posted September 6, 2019 Tight. Happens with both Winchester and ADG brass.
10Turkeys Report post Posted September 6, 2019 My buds Remington 700 and my Ruger 77 do the same thing. I don't shoot my Ruger that much and neither does he, so we just end up getting new brass.
