Ed67 Report post Posted August 20, 2019 EB I-8 yesterday I’m 90% sure I saw a dead female antelope on the left about 25 miles west of Gila Bend? Very odd and I was driving fast but pretty sure I saw what I saw.

brademan76 Report post Posted August 20, 2019 Eastbound I-8?
Heat Report post Posted August 20, 2019 Sonoran pronghorn perhaps? They are found south of I-8 between Gila Bend and Yuma. A herd of Sonoran pronghorn has also been established on Kofa NWR/YPG in King Valley. Who knows where that one wondered over from.

Roosevelt Mark Report post Posted August 20, 2019 Yes they are Sonoran Antelope, I have seen them on the north side of I-8. Little guys.
jim Report post Posted August 20, 2019 I have seen lopes between quartzite and yuma several times and they even have signs on the road.
Brooktrout26 Report post Posted August 20, 2019 There is a pocket of lopes that hang out North of Dateland. I've seen pics pretty recently.
brademan76 Report post Posted August 20, 2019 Not a pronghorn. It's a doe or fawn mule deer. It was 1 or 2 miles west of the rest stop in that area. I kept my eyes peeled the next 15 miles but didnt see any lope.

azbow Report post Posted August 22, 2019 Tue morning heading west on I-8 on the right side, less than a half mile from the Yuma county line, looked to be a dead mule deer doe. Was very orange colored and just got a glimpse as we went by. Very dry ugly stretch where there is barely even scrubby creosote.
brademan76 Report post Posted August 22, 2019 I saw that doe as well. I was surprised there were two dead doe in such a close area on each side of the interstate both killed at a similar time.
